Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar thanks to his folk-inspired songs with a lot of them being set in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in the love of Colorado before settling in Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a hit and have attracted many visitors to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver became one of the very initial Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. The state of Colorado is a popular symbol for all people. In my travels I've encountered people from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell them you're from Colorado, the first words they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown admitted. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief career performing in small folk groups included Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff created the song using Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver first heard the song and listened to it, he was convinced that it was an instant hit. Just a couple of days after performing for a packed crowd at Washington D.C., the musician recorded the track.
