The singer was extremely popular throughout Latino communities across North America her music crossed cultural boundaries to touch those of youth and old alike. Selena, a sexy and flamboyant stage performer who is sometimes referred to as Latina Madonna, was also a model offstage. She was active with anti-drug campaigning.
